Our History

1981

Cosmos Insurance was founded in 1981 by the late Kyriakos M. Tyllis. The company’s main activities focused on motor and property insurance.

1996

In 1996, the company was taken over by his two sons, Andreas and Michalis Tyllis.

2000

In year 2000, the company’s shares are being listed in the Cyprus Stock Exchange and is being renamed to Cosmos Insurance Company Public Ltd.

2002

In 2002 the company expands to Larnaca and Paphos with local offices.

2004

In 2004 the company expands in Limassol as well.

2014

In 2014 the company ranks as the 3rd general insurance company in the Health & Accident sector and 4th in the Motor Insurance business.

2021

Year 2021 finds Cosmos celebrating 40 years of presence in the market with over 27 products and 150 intermidiaries.

The Company today

Cosmos operates island-wide through its large network of insurance intermediaries and through its offices in Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.

The company employs over seventy well-trained individuals and maintains cooperation with more than one hundred and fifty insurance intermediaries throughout the island.

The Company offers innovative general insurance solutions and holds amongst others, license to conduct insurance operations for:
